Um ... communication

Dear SkyMesh Member,

This is an automated message to help you manage your data usage.

As of 10-May-2014 05:00pm you had used 506 MB of your 1,000 MB Normal Data allowance.

SkyMesh doesn't charge for excess data but if you use all of your Normal Data allowance during the current Billing Period, your service will be speed limited until your next Billing Day on 12-May-2014.

Speed limiting occurs during Peak hours and, if you have also used all of your Bonus Data allowance, during Off Peak hours.

If you don't think your remaining Normal Data allowance will last until your next Billing Day, depending on your Plan, some of the following options may be available to you, depending on what type of plan you have:
* Simply do nothing and wait until your next Billing Day.
* Increase your data allowance by changing to a Plan with a larger data allowance.
* Increase your data allowance by purchasing a Data Block.

It's your choice.

Below is a summary of your usage for the current Billing Period:
Normal Data: 506 / 1,000 MB
Bonus Data: 877 / 2,000 MB
Excess Data: 0 MB

If you would like to check your current usage, or decide to change your Plan or purchase a Data Block, please use our customer portal, My SkyMesh at https://my.skymesh.net.au.

If you have any further questions, please call Customer Service on 1300 759 637 or email sales@skymesh.com.au.

Kind regards,

passion and ..

mm, apparently this sort of thing doesn't really work all that well on this blog format.

Anyway, just put the headphones on, sit back, and listen.
Thanks, Niel.

pre-emptive assumptions

Blogger Davo said...

mm, that post was somewhat 'uncharacteristic', but yup. Understood.

One of the things that fascinates me IS words; the use thereof, and the subliminal resonances - yer, I know, bear with me on this.

Have, quietly and without success, argued that there was no real reason to change the perception from "handicapped" to "disabled".

Think on this; horseracing analogy.

The BEST, most able, horses are handicapped. given weights to slow them down.

drag them down into some sort of 'equality'.

Just playing with conceptual words - but if i had a preference - would rather be 'handicapped', not 'dis-abled'.

That, obviously, is a "copy 'n' paste, and for some reason beyond my knowledge of the hidden "codes" behind computer programming, didn't transfer accurately.

The "words" did, but not the "format".

So, which is more important to communication and understanding? Words or format. Words or 'pretty', 'beautiful', 'attractive' "presentation"?

Not only that, it was a "comment" on someone elses blog - and am not all that fluent on the keyboard at the best of times, and sort of resent it when "the computer" tells me what words to write, and how to spell them -especially if it subliminally takes the "you" out of 'colour'.

So much, so much; belongs to a longer story. So many trees trashed with wasted words.

Define "homeless" in 20 words or less.

But getting back to this concept of "handicapped" vs "dis-abled".

A recent friend of mine regularly (or not) turns up on my doorstep with a carton of beer under his arm. Left formal education at age 12 - been around a bit (drill rigs and mines sites at various places on this planet). Now age 42, survived a massive heart attack and stroke about 2 years ago; six months in coma. Seems to like me since I know, or understand what he talks about (who else around here has ever heard the word "Tesla"). Am guessing that he may well have qualified for Mensa PRIOR to the stroke. He is very direct, language liberally sprinkled with 'eff' and 'effin' - and takes no bullshit. Getting close to making me think on a chess board.

Apart from many untold anecdotes about my personal interactions with people who are difficult to understand - there is also a book written by William Horwood (not me) - SKALLAGRIG.

Might just leave it at this .. food for further thought.

Is Grungle censoring ??

Dunno, really.

Seems curious to me that the only times that i have major problems with Gaggle sign-ins is when it thinks am somehow associated with A. Peasant .. heh.

Gah, is paranoia my middle name?

NOW, the laptop is telling me to "restart your computer - updates available" ??

Has always fascinated me when I 'log on' to the Telstra internet thingo.

Can see some 'activity' .. xx amount of data sent and received .. have always presumed that it was the wireless networks connecting and 'talking' to each other. Never very much, one or two megs of data.

On some occasions the "data transfer" thingos go crazy .. can get up to 20, or 30 megs,

?? think I. Who is datamining my laptop without my knowledge, or permission?

Gurgle confusion

Um, OK .. one of the reasons Womby's drivel has been silent for so long is that he's been completely confused, confounded and discombombulated by the plethora of sign in options belonging to Gurgle.

Have, it seems, several "Guggle accounts" .. all requiring different "usernames" and passwords.

Doesn't help that Womby's drivel uses an email address that I had when first began - 2005 (before Grungle got hold of Blogger) - but which is no longer valid .. sort of makes it difficult to 'recover' or 'change' a password if the 'confirmation' email disappears into cyberspace - and there is no way to contact a real person at Grungle to explain the situation (well, there IS a 'forum', but that is frustrating, and the "help" files are about as useful as an iPad to a blind man).

However, after much teeth-grinding, hair pulling, and objects thrown at walls - have now managed to figure out how to "sign on" to Wombat's Waffles.

Normal service will be resumed as soon as the valium kicks in.

apparent Hiatus

Um, am only a mere male. Cannot "multitask". Am dealing with one problem at a time.
