Is my imagination real also?

mm, John Myste - best that i can come up with after many "actual" years, and from my perspective is - depends.

read what i wrote in the sidebar;

(paraphrasing) Stand (naked) in my backyard where i can "see" you - all else is is crap (bullshit, cowshit, ordure; ok).

However, arguing against, perhaps, that premise - where would humankind BE without 'imagination'?

I guess OK. I am not sure, but I think you invited me to your house.

Very Descartesian.

Um, JM, am an unlettered (as distinct from 'ignorant'); Aussie.

Who's Descartsian"?

is that the bloke who put des cart before des horse?

Davoh said...

nah, seriously JM - if self had any sense, would have used the money that i spent on the caravan; on an aeroplane ticket to Europe. My mind boggles (ok, my imagination ponders) what might be found in the Bodlean - or indeed - the archives held by the Vatican. However, they don't really let "anybody" in there.

Have sort of forgotten to collect the "tickets" ... heh.

um getting back that bit, John Myste -

as far as am aware, i know no person by that name; and am certain that have never 'invited' any person by that name into my (real) house.

However, just to clarify a point - you (whoever you are) are - more or less - welcome on this blog.

A bit quirky, perhaps, but welcome nontheless (is that a word? Must look it up ... heh)

When waxeth full, the moon is recognized for what it really is, a 64 pound firkin of Cheese in a ball. I think it is Edam cheese which is made backwards and with the red wax covering absent.

When able, on the Full Moon, I look for a certified ugly witch from Rainer, Minnesota, whose occupation is building garages and rides a ten tie 8 cyl turbo charged broomstick with a mangy dog named Hairy screaming I need sex please -I must have sex. Hi TS.

Cartesian is an adjective referring to the philosophy of Rene Descarte, who said, “Cogito ergo sum" (usually translated as: I think; therefore I am).

I do not agree with the adjective. It should be Descartesian, so in protest, that’s the one I use. Since I made it up, you will not find it on Google, who lags behind my imagination.

The mystycisms of Mystes mystories mostly entail a mistic word - which other mystics try to out do with another strange unknown mystic words.
Keep it simple, Why use a Greek or Latin expression when a strine word will do quite nicely.

It is a safe rule to apply that, when a mathematical or philosophical author writes with a misty profundity, he is talking nonsense. Hi Billikins X.

Vest. A firkin of cheese is 56 lbs (pounds)

Vest said...

Anon you are correct I cocked up. But a Firkin of cheese by British Navy standards was I can confirm, arrived boxed and inside were 2x28lb heads of cheese..
The 64lb firkin of soft soap and nine gallon barrel were also firkins. Most other firkins were idiots.

Firkins and other archaic weights and measures were referred to as,
Avoirdupois weight.

May well you say "Firking Hell"

Yep, am very 'lenient' as far as "comments" go, since they are, actually, available to every Firkin nutcase - but hey, please try to keep them along the premise that intelligent and well read, even "educated" (whatever that means. Experienced?) humans can vaguely understand.

[a 'firkin' for those who want get to basic words, and understanding of - originated from "Old Dutch". (and no, am not going to try to explain that region of the "European" part of the planet).

It is, apparently, "one fourth" - or a 'quarter'. Further, it was an old 'trading' measure. One quarter of a 'barrel'. A 'barrel', during the old, sailing ship technology, trading days, had a specific 'size'. Which, basically, every 'honest' "trader" agreed upon.

Um, from what i can gather from eclectic reading .. the Hanseatic league of Traders would be horrified by the "dishonesty" of 'traders' .. today.

mm, won't go through the list of ancient people with "imagination". Just mention that if Marconi was, actually, destroyed by "capital" (ie, the blokes who 'invested' vast amounts of money in the "trans-Altantic" cable at the time; and they tried) - you would not be communicating with me today.

Um, might also mention Tesla, also .. ... who knows what may be now - if General Electric hadn't burnt his workshop.

need i continue?
