Supressed anger

Ok, dunno quite know how to express it. Was in the South Australian riverland some 35-40 years ago, as well as 1999.. the changes are remarkable. Where once was sleepy little riverland towns, a viable economy and relatively pristine environment - now wall to wall brick veneer and fake Tuscan villas built out of plasterboard and thin veneer. Local vineyards, orchards, pubs and shops, are now "corporatised'. Was wondering who owned (or controlled - the names "Renmano", "Berri") .. and most of the vineyards around here -. Was told that it was some amorphous "hedge fund" American entity called 'constellation'. ("No one can make you feel inferior without your consent")?

Yer, well, sonny, am not inferior and I do not consent.

Fuck off, Wall Street.

Signing up to a "CO2 Emissions Trading Scheme" is tantamount to "trusting Wall Street trading schemes".

No way.

It's a shame, but you and I have to adapt somehow to the way the world is going. We are of the age to hate the new with a virulent loathing, as we remember our elders doing a long time ago.

I would feel exactly the same about the same things - brick veneer, anything to do with Wall Street.

We shouldn't have to adapt to or accept Wall Street arseholes controlling the world. Even just talking about them helps in a small way to expose them.

Looking at the news I guess that not everyone there agrees with you considering all the fireworks in your country on New Years Eve that is helping destroy this planet.

um, Billy B, I doubt if a few bangers on the Roman calender change of seasons will alter whether this planet survives or not .. considering the considerable rape that has been carried out by the "good Ole US of A".

sorry to hear of it, Davo. I left a California of about 8 million souls in 1964 cause my dad said it was getting too crowded. I really hurts to go back to fields he farmed and see nothing but condo's and qwikmarts....and did the farmers that used to farm these place make out well? nah, most didn't.

btw. I owe ya a report on big changes I have made...but they leave me no time to type.
