"Meercat Manor"

Anthropomorphising according to CH10. Whattaloadashit. Dunno who actually put the images together, but the commentary is a load of shit.

Gee, one male, one female, look after the 'family'.

Propoganda with a small "p".

Love the camerawork, the commentary is crap.

"Desperate Housewives" with fur and four legs.

This business of ascribing human emotions and analogs of human society onto animals, literally putting words in maws and muzzles, is as old as Aesop. But its application to political ends is a bit more modern and really pissed off at least one American politician. TR left us, along with the beginnings of american imperialism, a handy term: "nature fakers".

Attachment to another being and fretting during their absence is a definite human emotion among pet animals. Joy when you show up is another. And they get jealous, and so on. And the noises they make are expressive in tone of anger, fear, happiness, and sorrow.
They talk, you just need to listen.

Am not really sure why this particular program annoyed me so much, will have to watch it again with more sober eyes :).
