distrust

Yer, i know, am not going to write a longish essay on this - but, in one of my brief moments looking at what other people say, came across this

http://thatssopants.blogspot.com.au/2012/09/consumerism-and-its-compexities-abridged.html

Coins and cash. Does anybody really "trust" the "banking" system these days? Where thousands, millions, trillions of 'non existent' money can be gained - or lost - in milliseconds.

Me, nah; have nothing, can lose nothing.

Might swap a couple of chooks fer a goat .. hey, have t' feed self ...

OOOOPS, musn't mention that, the 'modern' gummint can't tax that.

Well, they could, back in medieval times - or before ....

um, was tempted to label this post 'real wealth' but decided that the explanation would take more time than was prepared to give.
(plus the fact that my satellite internet connection was unavailable fer an hour or so (hey, the joys of modern technology. Am wondering whether i can ask fer a discount; but tried the 'tech support' phone number and after waiting and trying to speak with several 'recorded' voices, then 'put on hold' fer half an hour or so, decided to "wait it out". So, wasn't worth th bother.

I've never been much obsessed with money as long as I had enough to get by.

Somehow I got to fucking retirement age with a little free and clear property and next to no bills so I'm doing okay I guess.

If I want something I don't have the money for I look for a one year no interest fee if I pay it up in time.

I have a bank account, almost have to have one in this country, but they don't make any money off of me.

I like the clerks in the bank though, some of them have nice tits.

Me? Money? Na, if i can't see it or feel it - doesn't exist .. just sit; whittle .. and watch the tits.

There is, somewhere, the apocryphal story about a bloke who grew potatoes. Had been selling them round the local countryside for many years. The gummit heard about it, calculated the average 'price' of potatoes over the previous ten years - estimated a possible tax of 10% - send him a letter.

The farmer looked at what they asked - $5,000.00.

Um, he thinks, OK, can do that ... then took $5,000.00 worth of potatoes and dumped them on parliament house steps.

Hum, I could pay my property taxes with an equal value of blackberries? Cool....

Reverting to NEW Dollars as in New P's And New Francs in the past. Like 100 old or present dollars becoming Ten or even as low as 1 dollar. people would not appear to be so wealthy, but accounting would be more simpler as people would have less cash to handle and would probably be more thoughtful with its use.. of course new coinage would replace the old.

In the late forties France went from a 1000 francs for a u/k pound and ten pence, which equalled .25 pence per u/k pound,(1 Farthig) (no I didn't say farting)kjbjkb to 100 francs per u/k pound.

The monetary systems on this planet are just stupid. But so is greed and that is what runs them.
