I'm sorry the war robbed you of a father to grow up with, Davo. So
sad. :-(

Hope that you are not being facetious there, Gerry. Yes, I feel 'sad' on occasions, but the 'sadness' is more for all the other children - especially the young ones - who grow up without a father.

On the other hand, it might be an advantage - in that i can choose which 'father figure' to follow.

Walt Whitman, perhaps, Thoreau .. Zeus .. Yehova (if i feel like being vengeful) .. Yeshua if i feel the need to be compassionate ....

.. or i might just forget to "grow up" ..

I only knew my(WW1-Vet) Father briefly, He passed on when forty, and I was four. My life then on went 'Walkabout'.
My Dad is blameless for my failures.

Luv ya Vestie, my dad is also "blameless". Can't say the same about some of the things that self has done .. but that's a different story.

.. on the other hand, Vestie .. you can claim credit for what you have achieved.
