I do too, and I'm an honorarily discharged soldier...

when he released the iraq docs.. the white house was saying it was giving whoever we are fighting our "TTPs and SOPs" (the way we do things)

first day you set boots on the ground, you are told that the enemy knows all our SOPs and TTPs... and you must always change them.. but they will always know...

Julian is truly an epic man

Hi Jay, welcome to Womby's drivel. Self has never been in any 'official" army (apart from "college cadets") so sort of understand pyramidal hierarchies.

Must be a difficult juggle between 'loyalty' and 'conscience'.

The real 'hero' here is Bradley Manning.

.. and Jay - "boots on the ground" is, or should be, the predominant part of any "military" planning.

Technically and ideologically - the "grunts" are the achievement point.

.. and yes, Jay: if I were "on the ground" would be extremely pissed orf with B. Manning. However, wars these days are fought, hopefully, with the knowledge that the "other side" knows as much about us as we do them.

. or not. One of the reasons why we have the SAS (in theatre) .. heh.

.. and yes, 'tis a longrunning frustration in the SAS. Information from the ground is .. um, 'fucked up', misinterpreted, rejigged - by the "general staff". So, what's new?
