In this age of "instant" news and gratification, it is far too easy to forget how things began, to be swayed by "new" stuff, smoke and mirrors and, as the election looms nearer, and the Rodent begins - yet again - to knaw away at truth without consequence.

It’s vital for us to get our timeline and facts correct here: Howard says that “we were a target before the invasion of Iraq.” And he’s right.
But let’s go back to Sept 11, 2001. Due to a long history of American, British and other western pressures of globalisation on the Middle East, libraries bulge with these facts, radical persons from two countries of the world decided to attack the USA on 9/11.
When the US eventually retaliated, they attacked two wrong countries! If you search the archives of the world’s newspapers and magazines just after 9/11, including TIME magazine of the USA, you’ll see the photos of the 19 Sept 11 hijackers on the front cover.
You will also discover that 15 of the 19 hijackers came from Saudi Arabia, and the other 4 were from Egypt. Somehow this still seems to be so incomprehensible to the world, especially Bush, Blair and Howard, and their collective eloctorates, that they’ve all just plain forgotten it! Or, ignorance is bliss, I suppose.
Too bad, like it or hate it, that’s where the 9/11 hijackers came from. And not from anywhere else: they came from Saudi Arabia and Egypt ! Understand?
Now, instead of bombing the shitter out of Saudi Arabia and Egypt in retaliation, guess what? we invented two countries who were soft targets to blast away at: Afghanistan & Iraq.
Remembering that AFG and IRQ have something in common: no army, no navy and no airforce. A turkey shoot, is how brave US troops describe the mass eradication of defenceless countries who fire sling-shots up at B-52 bombers, and yell curses at cruise missiles.
Then we westerners invaded Muslim territory, AFG, with our infidel soldiers and genocidal squadrons of B52’s. Remembering here that Saddam Hussein was not even on the radar screen at this time, in respect to the perpetrators of 9/11.
Then 200 people were blown up in Bali in 2002, including 88 innocent Australians. This was because of our illegal and immoral invasion of Afghanistan, into sacred Muslim territory.
And still the US had not retaliated against Saudi Arabia or Egypt for 9/11. Neither will they ever. Instead, they beat the jungle drum about Iraq - constantly. It was all Iraq’s fault, they squawked, especially Saddam’s. But why not smash the real culprits? Because Saudi owns the world’s biggest oil supply, while Egypt has an army, navy and an airforce. The US has not attacked an equal foe since WW2; even Vietnam had no airforce or navy to speak of.
It was now was all Saddam’s fault. All the world’s woes were caused by him. This is despite the solid fact that Saddam had nothing whatsoever to do with 9/11, or bin Laden, or al Q’aida or any of it. These are established solid facts, not debating topics.
And we all know that there were never-never any WMD’s while Iraqnam has become another botched US dog’s breakfast.
Here at home, our Australian Prime Minister is still attempting to, hopefully, scoot and roller skate away from the fact that we, holier-than-thou Australia, handed Saddam Hussein, our most avowed enemy, bribes of hundreds of millions of dollars from the Australian Wheat Board whilst simultaneously planning to invade and take over his country. This was aided, abetted and condoned by the USA. where the lunatics have finally taken over the asylum.
Unbelievable! It’s breathtaking! This is unheralded and virgin territory in Australia’s relatively short history.
Did we bribe Ho Chi Minh while fighting in Vietnam? Did we sent large cheques to Adolf Hitler? Astonishing!
Commissioner Cole thinks that his old school mate, the Little Lying Rodent, will get away with murder here. But we are watching you, Mr Cole. We will read your inevitable whitewash and hosing down of real history. We have seen how Howard, your old school buddy, and pansy Downer, and the AWB, and all their criminal clique are laughing their tits off at your fake and phony commission into nothing, and which will resolve nothing.
We KNOW what you are going to announce at the end: mistakes, oversights, errors, must do better next time boys, etc.
Yes, hosedown.com.au, that’s what we’re going to hear soon. Or whitewash.com.au. Then when you make such absurdly lying pronouncements at the Cole Inquiry’s final findings, you will be forgetting one vital thing:
WE ARE WATCHING YOU. YOU WON’T GET AWAY WITH IT.

gnaw at truth? hell! They go at it like it was a medium rare plate of sirloin tips. But the "without consequences" part has only been true of the miscreants. You and I have born some consequences already and when all the debts are paid, and all the vengeful wishes quenched, we, you and I Davo, will have paid a lot more.
That note about "we are watching" is hopeful. A year past elections that were to have changed things here in America, I can't see much evidence that there are consequences or that serious numbers of people are watching.
GS, we are on the verge of an election .. has yet to be "officially called" but will soon see the tidal wave of American style, Long-on- emotion-short-on-fact, TV advertising campaigns. At the moment local "straw polling" puts Kevin Rudd well in front but, even though it is extremely difficult to actually "manipulate" the numbers on election day here, voters are a peculiar lot. We'll just have to wait and see.
Even so, if Rudd actually wins, will be interesting to see if there is any appreciable difference. I do have hopes, though. Unlike the incumbent, he comes across as having a better feel for where future Australia should be heading.
