Funny, really, during the week hundreds of ideas for post subjects run through what's left of my mind; lengthy, erudite, sort of witty and detailed essays are formulated, edited and written on the winds of thought - but when i come home of a night - they've all escaped into the cyberspace of eternity, never to be seen again. Am a slow typist, so will just post some of the things that have been thinking about.
Hey, Blugger has added a video upload facility.
uTube are contemplating adding some sort of "advertising" scroll bar at the bottom of "user generated content". Mmmmm, one can only hope that the "user" who uploaded that (free) content will get a payment for it. One dollar per view thanks uTube, a couple of my vids have over 3000 views .. (as if ..)
[later .. hoo boy, not only is Wikipedia working on "1984" time .. uTube also have a "remixer". What you watched yesterday may not be the same as today .. oh my, where will it all end. Can someone please organise a rewrite of MY life history?]
"Bonsai" .. heh, saw that on another *Blug. First time that have seen it .. as a description of our wee Johnny .. "Little
Win some .. "beep beep" goes the pager last Thursday ..
(an aside - bloody thing drives me to insanity .. i don't need specs except for close-up stuff. Phone is in top left pocket, has vibrating ring-tone, every time it goes off think am having a heart attack. Am generally busy throwing heavy machinery around and concentrating on job at hand. So .. stop work, turn off machinery, fumble in pocket for phone. Can't read the bloody screen in daylight, can't read tiny print anyway. Walk back to car to get specs, find pencil ... intensely frustrating waste of time, mostly, why is everything so bloody TINY ..gaaaah! see pic.)
Find specs, read message, two phone numbers, ring customer, bloody messagebank. Ring mobile number, another bloody messagebank. Go back to work. Ten minutes later %&**#!! phone rings. Absentee owner wants me to clean up front and back yard of empty house. OK, say i, will have a look at it and call you back with quote. Later that afternoon i have a squizz. Oh dear, don't really want to do this one. Messy.
Conversations occur later that day. She must have sensed that i was reluctant .. err, umm, say i, um $300?, won't be able to do it until Saturday, and will probably be spread over several days. OK, she says, how about if i give you $450. Will drop cheque in your letterbox tonight. !!!?, but had to agree, ooer, some people are nice. Am used to customers beating me down to half the quote, then waiting six weeks to pay. Am a bloody worker, drowning in paperwork..
Lose some .. have to report that the canaries have .. errm "left the building", "departed the mortal", "pointed their toes to the sky", "flown to a higher sphere" .. well, are now in a "lower" place, in fact.
Carefully wrapped them in individual white shrouds of A4 paper containing a note of love and regret, and buried them under the apricot tree. Have no idea whether they had "souls" or not, but at least their molecules and atoms will continue through the cycle of life. Probably to nourish the next crop of apricots and feed the Rainbow Lorikeets.
Have, however, to take some responsibility for their demise, but the cat instigated it. Strange how odd events lead to unfortunate consequences. The cat had ignored the canaries for two years or so, then knocked their cage off the stand in the back porch. (poverty also played a part. If I could have afforded a decent aviary ..). Managed to rescue the canaries after that event, but put them in a smaller cage in the spare room and locked the door closed. They were OK for several days then, one night, came home from work, looked in on them - and there they were, belly up. Have no idea why, plenty of food and water.
Umm, more .. if and when i think of it ..

Actually, while am over that way, have a look at Tumbleweed. Very interesting, especially for the ladies who are interested in the progress of um, generation, heh.
(have also been fiddling with the settings on the camera [Fuji Finepix S5600] .. changed it from "Fstandard" to "Fchroma" .. has boosted the saturation somewhat .. and nobody's noticed .. boo hoo)
