Broadband access

Quote taken from "The Australian" August 1 2007.

THE Howard Government must be relying on the fact that most voters don't comprehend the reality behind the eye-glazing, mind-bending, tongue-twisting telecommunications jargon.

Otherwise they might clearly understand that John Howard's proud boast that 99 per cent of Australians will have access to high speed broadband within two years is complete piffle.

And such clarity is not part of the grand political plan. Not at all. Instead, the basic principle seems to be to try to obscure and delay the fundamental conflicts, at least until safely after the election.

Unfortunately, the country will be paying the price for all this long after voting day has come and gone -- which makes it a saga that needs to be told in simple English.
....

Another interesting article is here, if one is interested in telecommunications sort of stuff.

I think it is interesting that some third world countries have high speed internet now and nobody has computers. I suppose that looks good on some portfolio somewhere.

I like your writing style.

Hello Abraham, welcome. Had thought fer a minnit that you were one of those paid comment spammers, but took the chance and visited your site .. wow, fantastic photos.

Not sure which writing style you are referring to though, mine tends to drift between the sublime and the ridiculous .. heh, but thankyou for the compliment.

Shit, I can't even get DSL here and I'm only two blocks off of the state highway, in town to boot. So I stumble along on a modem.

I could get high speed but the cost is high. Ask John how all those folks are supposed to afford that.

If it isn't affordable it isn't going to happen. Give him a message for me? Tell him that I think that he is a fucking idiot. Hugs.
