Davo, look for the posts by "Bonddad" on Agonist.org...he puts the whole, and on the whole rather chilling, picture of the economy together for finance-phobics like me. He the savings rate and a dozen other numbers on hand...and they don't add up to much hope.

I don't know much about John Howard.
But having looked at his blog I see that he has a good sense of humor.
Might be okay to sit at a campfire with him. Depending on what we talked about of course.
BBC, apart from the bloke who thinks he is the president(cloneUSA) of Australia, we also have an actor with the name of John Howard (who's made some satirical - but quite legitimate - videos), but have no idea who writes those "blogs".
