And a very Merry Christmas 'n Happy New Year to you too Davo.

I pretty much ignore Christmas, the gift exchanges and such anyway, but I hope you have a safe one.

Are any of those fires in the news around you?

Thanks, Peter.
And hey, we all know yer a grumpy old bugger BBC, but it's a Solstice Festival of Cheer whichever way up the globe is, so might as well enjoy it :-)

(I live in the middle of a smallish/largish city so no fires close by. We've had/having several smallish ones up in the nearby hills, but access is very good so the local CFS can get to them very quickly. Not so in the hills of Victoria (about 900K away - several towns under immediate threat) and Tasmania. Very big ones raging over there, and several homes lost. Am not sure of the "life" count, but there has been at least one.)

You're a bit ahead of us Davo. The post date says December 27th. I thought so soon, must be getting close.

Wishing you a joyful silly season too.

Merry Christmas! Happy new year!

I noticed the date too and just for a second did a double-take (thought I must have skipped the whole week without realising it... not that this would be a bad thing ;) )

Beautiful red and green photo, Davo! Best wishes to all of you; like Anne says above, send the sun back, will ya?

['post' dating keeps this one at the top in case I want to do more 'daily' posts. Might not be able to 'turn back time', but can move it forward a bit :-D ]

And for our Northern neighbours; in a few days our people will be congregating to pray hard, followed by much feasting and drinking. Can confidently predict that we can shift the sun and send it back. 'Twas only a borrow. (and we're getting sick of having the bloody thing so close anyway.)

Its been a good year...we're all still alive. Hope to enjoy many more readings on wombat adventures.

Be well, Davo.

Wombat,

Would that all your seasons celebrate the uniqueness of the time and the changes that have been and will be.

Fond regards,

Guambat

PS: Cheers for keeping the Stew link in the Australian list. We've got one foot in the 'bidgy and the other one keeping time.

Stew, "admiration" is an iffy word. just be thankful that i dont post a link every second day saying .."jeez, Guambat Stew has said all the things I wish I'd said, but with wry humour and credible depth of research" ..
Ah well, my best wishes to you and your family. Luv ya writings.

Hi friend... All comment problems are Blog Spots screw ups. It seems that everyone is experiencing them. But your test comment looked ok at my end.

I start my retreat today, have a good day. Hugs.

Luv ya BBC, only made that "comment" 'cos yours is the only one where have experienced that glitch, so far.

Cheers.

Merry Christmas Davo, you're the second funniest man on the internet, you remind me very much of my friend Tom, who unfortunately has just been admitted to a mental hospital. But that shouldn't bother him at all, because like yourself he's at home anywhere, and the ward has a nice Christmas tree.

Robert.

Thakyou Robert, coming from you, that's a compliment - am not sure whether you mean "funny"-ha ha, or "funny"-peculiar, but will accept either - or both.

My Best Wishes for the Festive season.
Hopefully the men in white (or blue) coats won't catch up with me until next year :-)

R.H. said...

I meant both, but I'm always impulsive (which is the guts of good talent), having only now taken time to read your posting below, and in consequence, I withdraw most of the above. If it's fun to go out of your way -and if you're sour enough- to call people's religion 'fairytales', then we'll never be pals.

Davoh said...

"Folk"tales, Fairytales, Myths and Legends .. where would "Civilisation" be without them? Cheers Robert.

R.H. said...

Well golly me but I never figured you for Brunswick Street. Trendytown.
I see it different, they can stick their Civilisation right up their arse. And if "fairytales" weren't stopping me I'd do it for them. So how's that.

"Cheers"

mm, thanks all. Wierd xmas day, this one. DNA family have ignored/ neglected/disposed of this person - probly 'cos didn't contact them fer twelve months.
Next door neighbours invited me across the fence. Played sort of backyard cricket (which can do) and Soccer (which can't, but sort of can - though all thought that I was crazy for suggesting that it was sort of physical chess) .. love that lot.. all pissed, incoherent and raucously singing. Eventually the apha male told me to fuck off. So did (hey, who am i to destroy lives), came home and played the Neil Diamond "Hot August Night" LP flat chat. Oooer, don't get get angry, just get even .. whoo hoo.

It's Christmas morning here now. I'm staying low today other than taking Helen to the buffet.

Peace is a journey without wars, starving children, greed.

I do not know peace, only disappointment in 'humanity'.

Yeah, I know, God is grumpy.

Davoh said...

not t worry God .. in a few billion years y c'n start all over again ..:-0
(ooooer, pls don't invent alcohol next time round, head hurts.)
