at the 11th hour ..

.. of the 11th month etc. etc.

An armistice was signed at the end of what was touted as "The war to end all wars."

mm.

Having lost a father in the SECOND attempt at that notion, I truly wonder what the thoughts of Rumsfeld, with his "experiment" with re-organising the US military into a "leaner, meaner machine" might be.

Whether he and his supporters actually give a passing thought as to what the countless newborn children without fathers might grow up to think, plan and plot.

"..at the going down of the sun, and in the morning .."

.. we will remember ALL the idiotic arseholes who think that solving complex tribal issues with the butt, and barrel, of a gun - is simple.

whatever rummy's thoughts are this time around, they were quite different in 1971:

intersting source for the story too...had'nt heard and didn't remember that factoid on this continent.

You think Rummy will really care about the fatherless kids? He should be gone longgggggggg ago, but that guy on 1600 P. Avenue is too blind to see it.

I am glad the Democrats whacked them left and right this time round.
