Going back a bit, methinks the greatest influence was a peculiar bloke.
Teacher of English at a "private", "Exclusive" "College".
Loved him, very wierd and strange for a country boy recently arrived in a "big city" circa 1957.
He had a passion for words that has never left me.

Yup, could tell you his name, and College ..but such is the paranoia created by the "meeja" ..
There was no sexuality, just teaching. the college is, and was never "exclusive" (sheiss, they let ME in).. and is now embracing females.
All are doing well, from all reports.
Hey Davo just passin' by to say howdy.
Good teachers like good healers are as rare as the proverbial hens'. Passing on a love of words is a splendid gift.
thimply thplendid.
Hi again Li'l Feather. (2000? bet that wasn't the year the person wearing it was born .. heh)
Link, am finding that a passion and love of, and for, words is not the same as using them in a practical and efficient manner. Who knows, one day i might find the time to organise them into something coherent.. heh.
I had the same English teacher through 4 years of secondary school. He doubled as the goat teacher, and between the two he taught me every thing I know and use today.
