How much is a kilo (1/2 pound or so for those of us who learnt to count beyond our fingers and toes) of salt worth?
(this is a 'local' issue right now. "Southcorp" has been busily buying up vinyards in the Barossa Valley. The 'landmark', the 'jewel in the crown' of the wine industry in South Australia. Four years ago they put in a "pipeline" to "irrigate".. to "increase output and profits for their shareholders". (Not sure yet, but methinks the pipeline comes from the River Murray)
Up until that point the independent vintners of the Barossa Valley had operated on natural and normal "climate".
Personally i don't give a shit (well, once a day) .. but noticed a report by someone who studies these things that the Barossa Valley will be a salt pan in ten or so year's time. TUFF TIT for those small number of vintners who refused the offer of "irrigation according to Southcorp".
If malcolm turnbull IS, in fact, 'minister in charge of the River Murray" , would like to ask him to come close, so that i could grab him by the scruff of the neck, and drag him nose first; through the salt pans of South Australia.

I've recently become "AWARE" of salt. It isn't a universal, but a local and differentiating taste treat. Prices vary, and should.
life is surprising when you discover nuances to things you thought were standards.
"salt". The 'salarium', salaries, payment over years. .. Salt of the earth.
Creeps up on yer when the trees are removed and the water table rises.
The ocean reclaiming the earth.
First a disclaimer: I'm not sure I'm understanding correctly. 2.2 pounds are a kilo and what's the meaning of "for those of us who learnt to count beyond our fingers and toes"? I'd like to know if you want to explain me. Thanks
z .. a foot is a foot, a yard is somewhere near a cathedral.
If you can explain that t me .. go fer it.
