Used to be a fairly impatient little pixie, but "patience and persistence" became a mantra while i had the yacht.Became a very useful mantra one afternoon when was stretched arms out, full-length, on my back, at the stern end of a coffin-sized quarter-berth underneath the cockpit seat - the only access to the screws and bolts which held the main-sheet winches in place.
So, there was I - weather in Queensland hot and muggy -in the dark, though had snuggled a torch in with me, and propped it up precariously alongside ear, managed to dislodge five of the seven screws located millimetres above nose, paint flakes falling gently into eyeballs - then gee, guess what; the screwdriver didn't fit the last two screws. Wriggle out, find a cross-head screwdriver, repeat contortions, wriggle back in. Undo sixth screw then, well .. seven may well be a magic number elsewhere, but screw number seven refused to budge. Much sweat and language blue. Much wriggle back out into some semblance of clear air, deep breaths. Wriggle back in; repeat "patience and persistence" mantra, ad-infinitum through gritted teeth.
And so it eventually came to pass .. the screw released and task complete.
Similarly with the attempts at downloading the recent update to video edit program - file size 436 MB - though the level of "physical" dis-comfort in this case not comparable. Six attempts over this past week, all frustratingly close to completion before collapse of internet connection buuuuut .. yee har.
Was dozing, on and off, most of last night but became alert and awake at about 2am. Ummm, think i, must try the download again tonight, have a good feeling about this one.
And so it also came to pass. Began the download at about 2.15am, it took 3.5 hours, but is now successfully installed and up and running.
Thankyou, mantra.

Do you remember a fastback cat called Quoll? Anywhere from Redland Bay to Cooktown?
The short answer to that one Jane, is No.
Did spend several years on the Brisbane River and Moreton Bay, then a few more up the river at Maryborough and around the Great Sandy Straits but nup, can't remember any vessel by the name of "Quoll", sorry.

Humour!!?? , and here's me thinking am a cynical, twisted old twit ..Gaaah!
Anyway, thanks fer the visit Kathy (and hugs).
You need a dedicated woman to undertake those menial seagoing tasks while you deal with thought processes.
Remember when ers shows green and yours glows red, get stuck in and go ahead.
