Has been a quiet week

Locally "news-worthy".. i guess.

Our Prime Minister (that's "prime" - as in "fore-most" , and "mini" - as in "no better than the rest of us") --(fuck Presidents . always end up wanting to be queens or dick-taters)

After 200 or so years has achieved an unprecedented "open door" - by, on behalf of the Parliament and the current population of Australia, publicly apologising to the original inhabitants of this country for screwing up their tight knit, 40,000 year old, fossilised policy of tribal unity.

[yer, i know, long story, and contentious details]

Fact remains .. there was great joy throughout this fledgling Nation, for that.

By setting up that parameter we, us "indiginous" immigrants - were given a "welcome to country" ceremony by the Aboriginals, traditional owners of the land where Parliament House now stands. NOW, since roughly the year (in Julian calendar) - 1770; the floodgates preventing connection and communication are, now, "officially" open.

What we, the Aboriginal communities and us "indiginous" immigrants will do with the opportunity is anyone's guess.

Elsewhere - the "fledgling" democracy of nearby neighbour Timor Leste suffered a small hiccup.
There was an "assassination/kidnap/armed attempt at negotiation" by known dissident Renaildi [sp?] who died in the attempt.

President Hose Ramos Horta remains in a stable condition in a Darwin Hospital.

Prime Minister Janana Gusmao and his wife are safe, undamaged, and are recovering good spirits.


Last, but not least - a BLOODY CANE TOAD was found in an Adelaide backyard.

EVERY RESOURCE OF THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT AND RESIDENTS HAVE BEEN MOBILISED TO ERADICATE THIS UNWELCOME - poisonous - INVADER FROM ELSEWHERE(as well as its subsequent progeny).

Has also been several deaths from drunken driving, and a couple of murders prompted by passion ..

.. but apart from all that .. bittuva quiet week, really.
