it is, apparently, now official; John Howard lost control of his entire Government, as well as the electoral seat that he has held for 33 years.
[there has been no "public" view or interview with John Howard as to his views or reaction to the loss, as yet, at this point, but it must be somewhat dispiriting for someone like that to lose everything .. and to a woman .. tch tch .. ]

And a Sabahan became Climate Change Minister. Good on 'er!
Well, she is cute, has a nice smile and nice tits. Hell, she has my vote. LOL
Enviromental Minister is Peter Garrett? He must have burnt a lot of midnight oil to achieve that. (Lousy play on words, I know.)
heh, BBC, you'd have trouble choosing sides over here this time round if tits and a nice smile was the criterion, since Julie Bishop is deputy leader of the Opposition .. heh.
Actually, this time we have the highest number of females as Ministers and in Parliament since 1901.
Kevin Rudd/Julia Gillard in the leadership and Brendan Nelson/Julie Bishop for the "silvertails" in opposition.
Am not sure what you mean by "Sabahan", Wombat, but presume it has some reference to Penny Wong, who is now Minister in charge of Australia's effort to control climate change.
I was referring to Penny Wong, who was born in the state of Sabah, Malaysia, before she migrated to Australia. Sabah is where I am located now. Her appointment is big news over here, with all the blood sucking parasites--- oops I do mean goverment's politicians claiming this and that as if they had a hand in Penny Wong's existence.
Ah, Womby, have just been finding out all about her (for the latest post) .. so .. Sabah's loss, our gain .. heh.
Sunday, 2nd Dec 2007. while Maxine is claiming victory .. have not yet seen any public "admission of defeat" - in reference to his "seat" - from the (increasingly apparent) Misogynist Grumpy Old Bloke.
