Gunning for pulp

OK, am a fence sitter of sorts - and yes, it cracks me up - but this, in today's Australian is probably the most rational story that have seen from MSM so far.

We could all have terrific lives and not harm the planet much, if we were to get wise and halve the population and treat each other fairly.

But many people on this planet try to take advantage of others and have more than they do.

I think things will just keep getting worse. What do you think?

What do i think? Jeepers, Billy, you're asking me to THINK??

For a start, yes, things will get worse. As for the other part, depends on what you mean, and which half of the population.

Am totally against any ONE person or group of people or Nation having any notions, ideas, intentions or plans for "getting rid of half the population - to save the planet".

We are small animals on this planet with very little power over it. If and when the planet chooses to "get rid of some of the population" it will choose the when and where - indiscriminately.

I meant, to practice birth control until the populations are under control again. :-)

We have gotten so good at out smarting nature and keeping ourselves alive and producing more of us than the planet can support. So we need to wise up and reduce our numbers being as she can't anymore, even though she tries.

By "we" Billy, am presuming you mean "us Industrialised Nations". It's a long story, I guess, not solved easily.
