Random memories

Was up in Alice Springs, circa 1979, part of a theatre troupe. 3 months visit.

Part of the exercise was "readings" at the local High school. Shakespeare, poetry.

Can remember reading a poem that i thought interestingly relevant. Look up and see so many blank faces. Lost my "cool". Stood up and shouted "Fuckwits", went to each student, "passionately" shoved the book in the faces that i thought might remember.

Was "told off" fer that, "not appropriate" .. oops.

Hum, one of my favorite poems as a youth was 'Trees'.

Well, there are a few others but I grew up in a mining town so maybe I shouldn't mention them here. :-)

BBC, this was subtly relevant to the "Government Incursion" into aboriginal lands, recently.

It's a long, and difficult, story.
