And Now .. for "the message"

Um, here's me, wandering about, trying to make some sense out of "religion".

Silly me, it was right in front of my face.

YE GODS!

When Luddites lost, industry created
Pea soup smog and acid rain.
When humans lost, the world created
Central control, atrophied brain.
While Muslims rant and Christians wail,
There are new seekers of the Holy Grail.
Unknown by most, unseen by all,
A new religion is rising tall.
Content with being nursed,
Content to be coerced
We bend our knees, kowtow and dip
To the Great God Silicon Chip.
1970

Or, for an "update" into the 'Yeehar, let's go fer it'

I loved Mark Fiore's take on Petrotheism. As for the silicone chip, I tought we were kowtowing to Wublleyah and Slick Dick and their ilk.

Thanks, Davo. Like you, one of my hobbies is awareness of human foibles. I proudly add to my collection Petrotheism. Think I'll post it on my Cosmocracy blog. I'll dedicate it to you.

Yep... that be about right, unfortunately... There was an SF movie ages ago that made out that the "anti-christ" was a computer.

Believe it or not, this movie was done in the 60's or 70's, when computers were huge things... without much brain power. Someone was thinking ahead.

Miss E, 'wubblya' and 'slick dick' are transitory (hopefully).. heh. Fiore has one on "georgelandia" on the same site.

Jeepers, George, nothing t do with me.. blame Fiore.. heh.

Reni, I made a comment somewheres back that the 'nano-technologists' are now searching fer a way to convert organic molecules into computer chips. Heh. Been done before methinks, and is getting out of control, so to speak. Who do they think they are.. G*d? Heh heh.

One bird climbs above the highest tree
One bird flew the night away
One bird caught the dawn
One bird cast a rain
And one bird sang so many reasons why
One bird steals a brighter star
One bird turned to shadow
One bird was the snow
One bird slept late
And one bird cried to know the when
One bird rides down the sullen storm
One bird mourned a spark
One bird blew on ash
One bird harried fate
And one bird drove nearly all the light inside ...

the silicon Crow is dreaming gleaming dark again ...
