extremes

I see in the news that Europe is experiencing blizzards and snow storms.

The temperature in Adelaide yesterday was 42.5C (108F), the hottest December day since 1939, and similar is expected today. On the other hand, rain is expected tonight and tomorrow, with a very pleasant 28C on Monday.

(but before anyone gets carried away over "global warming", it's happened before, and will happen again.)

Hope the outcome isn't like 1939 with bush fires everywhere Davo

We're all crossing fingers here (or whatever, the more sensible are standing by with fire trucks and helicopters).

Will try to find a rather spectacular pic of a suburban palm tree recently struck by lightning.

Ha, that is true. Mother Earth cycles in ways we are too young to understand! Where I live in CA (Central Valley) it gets above 100 degrees in the summertime. And from this, the husband and I figured out that we can tolerate up to 105 degrees, but any hotter than that we both go braindead!!! :)

Umm, Mahndisa.. are you suggesting that the middle eastern people (who deal with these sort of temperatures on a regular basis) are 'braindead'?
